Payment Terms and Conditions
- As payment we request Bank to Bank money wire transfers
or a direct deposit.
- With confirmation of the order we request a 50% deposit.
The balance, the final 50% for products ordered, and the
shipping cost (100% ) to be paid when the container is sealed
and ready to be delivered to the port.
- For LCL (Loose or Less Container Load) shipments we request
100% remittance in advance.
Payments need to be in USA currency.
- At this time we do not accept credit card payment or
LC's. The cost of an LC ( Letter of Credit ) whilst being
a secure method of payment is prohibitive by the surcharges
and complexities of the banking institutions of Indonesia.
FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) on Shipping Information
1. Is shipping included in the
cost of items listed on your site?
No, Shipping charges vary greatly depending on many
factors (destination, method of shipping, exchange rates
and volume of order). We can't add shipping cost in
advance.
2. How is shipping arranged?
Once you have a general idea of what you would like
to order simply fill out the on-line order form or send
us an email at pille@java-gallery.com. When we receive
this information we will calculate the total cost of
goods and the shipping cost. We will take this information
and compile it into a invoice for you to review.
We handle all the cargo arrangements and take care of
all necessary official documentation for all our customers
(certificate of origin, B/L, commercial invoice &
packing list, visa quotas, fumigation requirements if
any, etc.)
3. What is your delivery time
frame?
LCL (Less or Loose Container Load) - 7 to 8 weeks
Container service - 6 weeks
4. How do you pack items?
The answer is related to how delicate the item is, how
heavy or large the item may be, and the amount of the
items involved. Small Items are normally wrapped in
paper or bubble wrap then packed into boxes with shredded
paper. Very delicate items are surrounded by fine shredded
paper then placed in plastic bags. Heavy and large items
are framed and crated.
5. Do I have to use your delivery
service?
No, you may use your own service if you like. If you
would like to have your shipping agent pick up items
purchased from us simply send us the contact name and
phone number.
6. What is LCL?
LCL stands for "Less or Loose Container Load"
. LCL is a delivery method where one cubic meter (35 cubic
feet) is shipped by surface shipping methods. LCL shipments
are delivered to the nearest port of customs bonded warehouse
where the customer must make pick up or make arrangements
for the goods to be picked up by a customs broker. When using
the LCL shipping option customers are responsible for customs
clearance or to hire a customs broker to do this clearance
for them.
Shipping via LCL means that your products are packed into paper cartons and
then we build wooden crates around the cartons. Your crates are then moved to
our cargo company; official government documentation is completed; the shipment
is then trucked to the port of Surabaya, Java which is the closest international
shipping port to Bali.
Since your LCL shipment doesn't fill a container, it
must then wait at the port while the shipping company
"consolidates" your order with other small
orders going in the same direction. The shipping company
waits for enough orders to combine with yours and fill
a container. Usual waiting time is 2-4 weeks.
We recommend you to place an order for a Full Container
Load (FCL) rather than for a Less Container Load (LCL).
Here are the disadvantages and advantages of placing
an LCL order:
1st disadvantage:
LCL is much more expensive per cubic meter than a container.
Here's why:
In a sealed 20' or 40' container, you get the full use
of the cubic meters inside that container, with LCL
wooden crates you lose about 25% of the useable space
due to the wood crate and lack of flexibility when packing
large products. That means you're actually paying 25%
more just in lost space
2nd disadvantage:
Because LCL shipments always have to be consolidated,
the transit time is usually double that of a sealed
container. Example, a container to the West Coast of
the USA takes about 30 days, while an LCL order to the
same port more likely will take 45-60 days.
3th disadvantage:
Your wooden crates are manhandled in a variety of places. From our warehouse
to the truck; from the truck to the cargo company; from the cargo company to
the port; from the port to the ship; from the ship to your port; and from your
port to your front door.
LCL is the most expensive way and least safe way to
go while 20' and 40' containers are the safest and most
cost-effective. Here are the advantages of placing a
20' or 40' container order:
1st Advantage:
You get the entire use of the 30 cubic meters of space.
When we pack an order for a container, we use only cardboard
cartons. We do not have to pack anything in wooden crates,
with the exception of something extremely valuable.
2nd Advantage:
There is no delay. When we order a container for your
order, we have already pre-planned which ship we'll
be using (and when);
A truck is brought down from Surabaya, picks up the
container, immediately returns to Surabaya and puts
it on the ship. Containers going to the United States
get there in 30 days or under, Europe usually 3 weeks,
Asia even less time.
If you plan an order well you can generally get $8,000.00
to $12,000.00 into a 20' container (Based on a mix of
products). Double those numbers for a 40' container.
7. What Charges Are Included
and Excluded in LCL Rates?
Shipping price includes:
Ocean Freight, Packing, Indonesian Handling, Indonesian
Vessel and Trucking Fees, Document Fee, Bill of Lading, Courier
Charge to deliver Bill of Lading, Fumigation.
Shipping price excludes:
Import duty or any other import tax (there is no US
customs duty on furniture or art entering the US form
Indonesia)
US dock delivery charges: You will be responsible to
pay DDC (Destination Delivery Charge) from the dock
to the warehouse before you will be able to pick up
your shipment. Average DDC charges are $30 US Dollars
per cubic meter (35 cubic feet)
Document Transfer Fees: These are fees that the customs
office and the warehouse charge to process your paperwork.
Normal DTF fees are $50 per shipment.
Late pick up Warehouse fees: once your shipment has
been cleared of customs you must pick up the order in
a timely manner so that you do not incur storage fees.
When using LCL service you will need to fill out some
import paperwork before your order can be picked up.
8. How long LCL shipment take
to be delivered to the US?
LCL shipments take on average to the US
- One week to be delivered to Surabaya Indonesia from
Bali Indonesia.
- 3 to 10 days to be delivered by ship to Singapore
from Surabaya

9. How much will fit into a Container?
How much will it cost to ship a container to me?
There are 3 container sizes that we use.
20 feet containers that hold 33.2 cubic meters worth
of goods
40 feet containers that hold 67.7 cubic meter worth
of goods
40 feet High Cube containers that hold 76.4 cubic meter

10. What express courier services
do you use?
We use express courier services only for sending documents
or samples. In cases where the customer requests us
to use express courier services we are able to use Fed
Ex, DHL, TNT or UPS .
11. Can you give me information
about custom brokers?
One of your responsibilities is to get on the phone
and talk to customs brokers and shop around for the best pricing.
Once you have a broker, it's his or her job to handle all
the paperwork that we send, clear your shipment through your
customs, settle any duties necessary and so on. Your customs
broker is also a good person to recommend the most cost-effective
way of moving your shipment from the port to your front door.
Remember, we're charging you only for delivery to your nearest
port. Our responsibility stops there and yours begins. We
suggest an internet search for selecting a broker / Handling
Agent.
For UK importer:
Here are a few custom brokers web sites from the UK on the
sites you will find all the contact information that you will
need to get the information that you need. They will ask you
things like the purchase price of the order, its size and
the number of pieces.

the shipment, but all requirements for the export of the shipment
from Bali including packing and completion of the official
export documentation is included in the price. When you contact
us we will give you a definitive quote to your destination.

is 1% of the total value of the cargo. Insurance for

your front door". We suggest an internet search
to locate and select an insurance agent .
